Today's Psalms

Welcome

31st July

Opening Prayer

12 1) May the Lord open our minds, hearts and mouths to sing and speak his praise. Amen

On the breath of the wind comes the merest scent of beauty. He is coming.

Despite the world being so full of sin and gloom, darkness and injustice, he is coming.

When he comes the world will be changed. In place of sin there will be joy; in place of darkness there will be light

The Psalms

Happy are all those who respect the Lord

Happy are all those who respect the Lord, and who walk in his footsteps.

You will eat the things your hands have made; you will be happy, and good things will be yours.

Your family will be like the fruit of the vine, in your own house; your children will be like olive plants around your table.

This is how those who fear the Lord will be blessed.

May the Lord look down from his holy mountain and bless you, and may you see his Holy City for all the days of your life.

And may you see your children's children: and may peace be with God's Holy Nation. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.

As it is, always has been and always will be, through the infinite ages. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever.

Amen

Happy are all those who respect the Lord

Bible Reading 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20

For who is our hope, or our joy, or the great reward that we can boast in? Is it not you, who is before our Lord Jesus when he comes? For you are our glory and our joy.

Canticle

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.

As it is, always has been and always will be, through the infinite ages. Amen.

Closing Prayers

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever.

Amen

May the Lord keep us day and night in his care, safe in the hope of eternal joy. Amen
